Dumplings - lots of Dumplings
Dumpling Day - was written in my diary, I had been looking forward to this - love dumplings and had never yet attended one of Sachies fabled classes, but it also made the brunch club bloggers not quite so intimidating, given that we would be focussed on dumplings rather than blogs.... (they are all old hands at bloggin and well, I am just starting to .....)
Had to wait though, first up was penguins..... for anyone who has forgone doing a class for fear 'food inept-ness' you will be okay - mostly because Sachie herself is such a wonderful host, funny and light-hearted. But also because if you can fold an origami penguin and make it stand up - instant 10 point lead!!!! please note that this photo is not my penguin - the blue team had this sorted!! (pretty sure that mine looked like wing-less jet plane sitting on its' butt, by the time I was done - and the photos when I got home somewhat confirmed that suspicion.)
There was a careful consideration of everyones dietary requirements, even down to likes and dislikes - the class was adapted - with absolute ease - to suit everyones individual dumpling preference. I had skipped breakfast for the lure of dumplings, and after the foil of the penguins, was ready to absorb every detail. We have since, dined on dumplings twice in the last week at home - so highly recommend the class - Sachie broke down every step beautifully and patiently went over it until we were all sure.
Three flavours of dumplings - Cooked three different ways. And the dipping sauce (wasn't watching so I now have no idea - purely my own fault - had camera and distracted by pretty food!!!!)
We had done all of this in a very short amount of time - producing more dumplings than we could consume (and I really made an effort!!) I should have actually made the effort to attend this class sooner - but it was brought forward thanks to Contiki New Zealand - Thank you!!!
