Vegan Food Fair 2017
This is less of a blog post and more of a visual feast of all the goodies at the Vegan Food Fair.
I had a piece of cheese for breakfast before I left, (and I apologised to all the vegans in the world as I did this - and I do again now) but I needed to reduce the anxiety - I have had some pretty poor experiences with some foods in this category, and I didn't want to get 'hangry' with my friends - Georgie and Michelle. As it turned out - I needn't have worried...
Met the Challenge Wall - cool idea!! Took that challenge - and I am goig to be brutally honest here - my first card read "give up dairy for 2 weeks" quickly popped that card back (my friends will understand this) and pulled out another "make a vegan dessert" this is the link to my challenge... Coconut Raspberry Mousse - Because I kinda cheated (read outright cheated) I have made it up with a REALLY good dessert recipe, at least I hope I have.
Some food was just incredible the Bibimbap I will be seeking out all the Dumplings (House of Dumplings and The Rolling Pin) and Little Island Ice cream - all of them.... I would eat all over again, there were a couple that left me convinced that full-time veganism, is probably never going to be my thing. Vegetarian is a distinct possibility though.
My least favourite discoveries.... Not convinced that this is close enough to cheese, and definitely not a fan of Tempeh. Although from what I read about Tempeh - its pretty damn good for you.....
To be honest I initially, probably wouldn't have gone on my own, because I didn't think the food would be flavourful or interesting enough, and that the company would more than make up for it. WRONG (not the company - they are always fun to hang with) the FOOD - I seriously underestimated the food. Next year I will happily trot off to eat and discover on my own. I hope to go with friends, but the food was enticing and interesting enough to go on my own.
